Literacy Centers (Ages 3-6 w/parent)

A literacy center gives children ample opportunity to practice the very important skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking. A literacy center enables the child to develop a liking for reading and writing and builds their confidence in the use of language. This is a drop in program.

Moms and dads bring your little ones to baby lapsit! We will sing songs, shake some shakers, blow some bubbles while getting a workout in! There will be extra time to get to meet other parents and have some playtime with your child/children. Registration is required.

Children ages 2 and up with a parent will make creations of their choice with Lego Duplos! Their works of art will then be put on display in the library. Registration is required.

T.A.G. (Teen Advisory Group)

Teens share opinions about the Young Adult section of the library. They recommend purchases and help create and plan youth programming. This group also has the opportunity to earn volunteer hours. It's a great place to have fun!

Adult Creative Writing Group

This group meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Come join this group of people who are passionate about words - artistically, professionally or personally.  Its intent is to create a positive, encouraging, honest, and fun atmosphere that will support and motivate each other to achieve excellence in writing.  Come see what it's all about!  To be placed on the mailing list, contact the Adult Reference Desk.

Read with Paws

April 28 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Kids come to the library, pick a book and read to a furry friend. All therapy dogs and handlers have been certified by an accredited organization. Appointments start at 10:30. Registration required. This program will now be on the 4th Saturday of every month.

“Threads” and More Group

May 1 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

This group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 10:00-12:00 in the Historical Room of the Library. This group is a combination of people who like to knit, crochet, quilt, sew, or needlepoint.    No registration needed.  Just bring your unfinished project to work on during the meeting.  This is a great time to meet fellow "threaders" for a creativity blast!
