Adult Services Special Events

Throughout the year, the Yorkville Library brings interesting programs to engage the community and offer new and exciting opportunities to learn, share, and come together. In the coming months we have several interesting classes, fun speakers, and informative presenters.

Coming this week, we have our Art & Poetry event. For the second year, local poets and artists will present collaborative work at this exciting program. This year, several local artists were asked to create a work – then those pieces were given to area poets, who then composed a work inspired by the art. On Saturday, September 17th, we will unveil the poetry and the art for the first time. Everyone is welcome to join us.

In the coming months, we are thrilled to host the Hix Bros. Ukulele Band – always a fan favorite here at the library. Later in November, we’ll celebrate the 100th birthday of cartoonist Charles Schulz with The Life of Charles Schulz presented by local historian Jim Gibbons. In December, we have another great biographical program, when Rock Historian Gary Wenstrup presents The Life and Career of Carole King.
