Read with Paws

Please choose the time slot that works best for youChildren can come to the library, select a book and read to a furry friend.  All therapy dogs and handlers have been certified by an accredited organization.  This program was designed originally because children feel less pressure to read to a dog than an adult; so it was meant to be a way to help struggling readers or even just encourage reading.  It is open to all levels of readers and non-readers.  Space is limited.

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library is a group of volunteers who love the Yorkville Public Library. The group supports and cooperates with the library in developing, maintaining, and enhancing facilities, resources, and services of the library through membership dues and fundraising.  The Friends sponsor many of the library's programs through fundraisers like our Annual Used Book Sale and the Mini-Golf FunRaiser each year.  The Friends are always looking for new members who want to help the library and its programs grow and develop.  All are welcome to attend our meetings on the 2nd Monday of each month.
