We currently offer six adult book clubs to give adults in our community the opportunity to share their feelings and ideas about great books with thought-provoking and lively discussion with other library patrons.
If you have more questions about any of our clubs, or would like to join, reach out to the Director of Adult Services Mike Curtis.
Lunch Bunch Book Club

Anyone can join the Lunch Bunch Book Club when they meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at noon. Many members bring their lunch and enjoy dining with friends as they discuss a variety of books – from best sellers and memoirs to historical fiction and mysteries.

Roaming Readers Walking Book Club

The Roaming Readers meet twice a month at Hoover Forest Preserve. Unlike a traditional book club, the Roaming Readers do not read a certain book each month – instead, they get out in nature, wander in the woods, enjoy some fresh air, and chat about whatever they’ve been reading lately. The Roamers love to share their favorite authors and books that have gotten them excited recently.
If you’d like to join them, meet the Roaming Readers at Hoover Forest Preserve (11285 W Fox Road in Yorkville) in the gravel parking lot closest to Fox Road (don’t go past the train tracks) at 9am on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month.

Books & Cooks

This new book club is a book club for readers who love to eat… or is it for eaters who love to read? The Books & Cooks group spends their meeting time sharing food they’ve been inspired to create by the reading that month – then we chow down while discussing the book.
